Got my copy today!
I know I'm days/weeks behind most of you guys, but I just picked up my copy of RB today... over at Art's! It's a great feeling opening up a new wargame for the first time, but especially so when the designer is right across the table.

This game just begs to be played, doesn't it? I'm really IMPRESSED with the quality of the components, too. The giant mapboard, the counters, the charts, the high-end paper rulebook... sturdy box (and the bubble gum!)... everything is definitely TOP NOTCH. Congrats, Art! Now, to carve out some time to set it up and start PLAYING...

Well done, good and faithful game designer...
Art, now that I've had almost a week to digest RB, all I can say is THANK YOU for another quality game!
I look forward to future releases from L2.

Wish you the very best Art.
The quality of your product has been outstanding, at times, stunning. I am extremey surprised our game industry has taken this great turn for the better in quality - all thanks to you. Would never had deemed it possible a few years ago. And to think a Canadian did it. Kool!
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for revitalizing this hobby.

Life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved.
Any L2 game is worth it's cost. You pay for quality, fortunately you normally get extra quantity thrown in for free too.

TRC is a great game, but a lot of history was lost.
RB for me is a good mix, playable yet enough realism. It also adds OIL ! This was what the war was about, so I am glad its here. It's absence from most WWII strategic wargames always amazes me.

Eastern Front Games

TRC is my 2nd favorite eastern front game. It is fairly simple, playable, recreates the eastern front fairly well on a strategic level, and one can play 1941-1942 in an evening. My only complaints about TRC are the extreme imortance of a very small handful of weather rolls and the lack of the historical capability of the Red Army.
Right now, I enjoy playing RB more than TRC. This is due to 1. It simulates the German 41 offensive better. 2. It has the historical Russian reinforcements in the summer and fall of 1941. 3. Blitzkrieg attacks open things up a bit. The Russians can even make Blitzkrieg attacks in 1944-45. 4. Air is more versatile (nine 1 column shift Stukas) and some Stukas can be used in the 2nd impulse. The Russian Sturmoviks give the Russians the punch to break German lines in 1943-45. 5. A better and more realistic weather table. Splitting the weather between impulses is good although there are still too few weather rolls. 6. Models the terrain better.

Just picked up a copy of RB from my local games store. I've got to say that I am impressed, the map is simply stunning.
